How to make distance effect!

Hey all!
I have a question…

Please listen for this track and wait to the part of the violia start palying.
I tried to make the sound ‘far’ like more distance but without reverb.
There someone here that know a good plugin that do this effect ??

cut the high frequencies and around 1K (and why no reverb?)

Plug-in? That would be EQ then.

Four main ways:

  1. Reduce high frequencies.
  2. Reduce volume in relation to other instruments.
  3. Panning left or right has a SLIGHT distance effect.
  4. Reverb (but you don’t want this, so that leaves the other three).
