How high is the quality standard on audiojungle?

Hello!

I have tried to get three different pieces up on audiojungle and gotten rejected for not meeting the quality standard every time. I’m wondering if I could get some feedback on how to improve and what to have in mind so that I can meet the quality standards next time. If my music is plain awful please tell me so and what to improve.

Okay, so the trailers -

The mixdown could be better, they sound rather muddy.

The climaxes are weak and or none existent. A trailer consists of intro - act 2 - act 3 (the big climax) and then a logo reveal or short outro.

Sync points - The big hits at the start of every four bars in trailers are really important and should be loud as these are what the editor cuts the footage to.

The 8 bar rule - in a trailer something new should be introduced every 8 bars. This could be a new layer or variations of existing elements but keep the track moving along and building tension.

I assume the reason they were rejected though is due to mixing.

Thank you for your input!

I have a question regarding the climaxes, in my program they are at 0db, which should be the limit before it starts clipping. How should I get it to be stronger when they are at their max?

The climax should sound as big as possible by filling out the frequencies (for hybrid often a huge brass section is used for act 3 layered with synths, strings and sometimes choir) with a big build of of hits and SFX like risers.

I mean, in all of the above the climax consists of the whole orchestra playing together. I don’t really get any more instruments and frequencies right?

Yeah that’s part of the problem…Act 2 should start of more minimal and build in layers. If you start with the whole orchestra in act 2 then you have no where to go from there.

I gotchu.

In the first of the three links I had a really small and intimate orchestra before the current version but then I got a feeling that the beginning was to weak in terms of loudness. The mood was right but the decibel was too low so I added more stuff and I guess it backfired.

Because of this loudness war it feels like you always need to be loud…

I’ll have your tips in mind, thank you.

They do need to be loud at the climax, trailers have dynamics and usually start quiet and then build in level. I left some notes on your soundscloud.

I will check them out and once again thank you.

Look at how soft this starts and how it builds over time - https://youtu.be/AFuYyHiOmXs?t=15
