I want to start fresh by uninstalling my current version of the Behold theme and reinstalling a clean version. I’ve tried to delete it using Appearance-Import-Delete, and then reinstalling it from my computer’s downloads. I think I’ve really messed this up. My homepage hasn’t changed.
Thank you for your reply. Previously, without downloading a place-keeper theme, I deleted Behold from the themes page. When I search for it now, no results are found.
I activated Twenty Twenty-Four and opened the File Manager. In the Name column, “Behold Website Theme Purchase . . .zip” is listed (19.31 MB, package x/generic). Oddly, I don’t see Twenty Twenty-Four listed.
Should I delete the Behold Website entry and reinstall it from my original download?
No worries, GJShotwell! It sounds like you might have skipped a step. Go ahead and delete the “Behold Website Theme Purchase…” file in the File Manager. Then, you can reinstall the clean version from your original download. That should do the trick.
When I uploaded the zip file from my downloads folder, the installation failed.
“The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.” How can I download a complete version of the theme?

This error occurs when the file you are trying to upload into WordPress is not a valid theme file. Please go back to your downloads page and download the theme again, making sure to select “Installable WordPress file only.”
If you don’t see this option, then you may have purchased an item which is not compatible with WordPress. I would suggest contacting the author of the item you purchased to see if they offer a WordPress version and can help you exchange it.

To reinstall Behold, switch to a default theme, then delete Behold under Appearance > Themes. Clear your site and browser cache, upload the fresh Behold theme, and activate it. If the homepage still doesn’t update, reset theme settings or check for leftover files.
