Help required with 'The Kitchen Table' Theme

I had recently bought the kitchen table theme and am trying to perfect the look before going live. Here are a few queries that I had.

  1. I have uploaded the header image(600 pixels in height). However only a portion of it is visible. How do I make the entire image visible and more prominent ? here’s how I would like my header image http://www.mythemedetector.com/wordpress-theme-kitchen-123840/glutenfreeeating.com.au-16557010

  2. Is it possible to reduce/adjust the left column widget width ?
