I have no coding knowledge or experience to speak of. I’m in need of help hiding category links and tags. I am using the theme Espresso from Theme Forest.

An important thing to take into account is that if you’re making changes to your theme, creating first a child theme is highly recommended. This way, your custom changes will not be lost when you’ll update the theme in the future. If the theme doesn’t come with a child theme, you can create one using a “child theme creator” plugin (you can find a few on the WordPress repository)
