Headers not displaying in mobile view + zephyr

I am using the Zephyr WordPress theme. I am having problems with the menu heading viewing on mobile devices. Where the text should be displayed, there is a block of colour. When I click the colour for each of the drop menu items it take me to the correct page. I have tried changing the colour of the words and the background in the menu section to see if this was the issue but no success. Can anyone suggest a way forward to be able to view the menu headers?
