Hard Rejection this! WHY??

Bro, these are not projects anyway

One more post from me on this subject regarding the “Robotic” quality of the animation. It is very difficult to add human natural movement to the human form. Add to that people are naturally hard wired to notice the slightest bit of unnatural movement… its in our evolutionary DNA. The Disney animators knew this all too well in developing the art form. I recently did a simple walk cycle and had to do it over and over for the same complaint, the client thought it was too robotic. Consider the arc, & ease of joints, follow through of secondary joints like fingers and objects like clothing.

I know what you are talking about, of course, I’m a 3d Artist. What you are refering to it’s something called the Uncanny Valley, but this is appliable to realistic characters, not to cartoon style characters, as they don’t pretend to be realistic. There is quite a wide range of acceptance of a character, as long as it doesn’t cross the line to try to mimic the reality.
What you say about your client, well, that’s a different thing, there are always some clients that expect more than their budget. If they want good quality animation, they should hire a profesional character animator.

Due to the difficulty to produce 3D and specially with character animation, there are not too many in the marketplace. And because there are a few with quality, the buyers are more flexible to buy as they don’t expect Disney quality animation in the marketplace. Of course there are some that are close, but not too many, they are very rare.
Proof of that is, that, despite the “robotic” movement, or slightly robotic as you said before, a lot of people say that it is an excellent work (including Elite Authors like you). And that’s because people is not used to see this kind of quality here, I mean looking at the overall outcome of course.

Motion Graphics is a discipline, but 3D is not a discipline, there are several disciplines behind the concept “3D”. Animation is one, but so it is lighting, modelling, rigging, compositing, rendering, etc… That’s the main reason why it’s very difficult to produce, and why there are not so many of this kind of templates. You cannot hire a team of specialists. Add to that the cost of render, you have to use a renderfarm, to render all of those frames, and it is very expensive. Add also to that the creation of some elaborated motion graphics for the titles.

For one person just the whole time of production is not worth, if there is such a risk to get rejected, as it is obviously much more than a month of work.

So yes, it is very different than a normal After Effects project, therefore it doesn’t make sense that the reviewers reject such easily this kind of template. Above all, something that is seasonal and cannot be uploaded at any time.

TrinityStudios, I don’t know why you say that I haven’t thanked the people, including the Elite authors that have given me feedback. Have you read all the thread?

This is not a proper feedback, and it is clear that your attitude is not constructive, and obviously you don’t want to give anything to learn from. Contrary to what for example, MotionMAX did, Elite Author who has given me clear indications about it, and he didn’t say “pretty bad”, etc…

I find your post quite distorted, dogmatic and emotionally biased towards defending some other author’s positions, instead of simply trying to discuss objectively the points and your opinion, as this kind of discussions should be. Anyway, I’m just going to point to something you have said that is very curious and contradictory:

And then you said this:

Yeah I knew his work, and I can see in his portfolio has a lot of swirling stars forming a tree, approved, and that recently he got approved… guess what? Another template with a repeated swirling star forming a tree! But he is an Elite Author, he is not a new author like me…, right?

For me, putting myself in the perspective of a buyer, it’s also not a problem another swirling star, as long as it comes with something new, and with quality. And my project has it.

Den2, thank you for your honest opinion and support. It’s good to see that there is people here that want to express freely an opinion, not focusing on defending positions.
Although you can see how some people respond diverting the central matter towards other matters that are not relevant.
Indeed, as you have pointed out, it is very important the fact that other projects with lower quality have been approved. Sad but true.

LuxArts, thanks for taking apart the pieces of my feedback and distorting my words to fit your narratives. You can attempt to defend yourself and your work as you like (it is your prerogative after all), but your attitude to any criticism, not just from me, is combative at worst and poor at best. This is coming from a long time Envato Buyer and Seller. Sure, my comments may come off as blunt, because like all the team projects I manage, there is no time for me to do any hand-holding, but they stand true nonetheless.

PMWA and other top creators on here do not get their work approved and ultimately make sales just because they are Elite Authors. It is because their work is professional and top tier. Simple as that. Buyers like my clients open their wallets for high quality products and service, which in turn makes Envato money. If you honestly think your Santa and swirling star are at their same elite level, then there is nothing left to discuss and I can only wish you good luck with your sales.

By the way, this account is just one of my Buyers account that I have been using since 2011 on the Envato marketplace for hundreds of international clients that include global corporate brands, multi-continent government agencies, as well as celebrities and small private businesses. I have worked in the media design industry for 20+ years now, often directing projects that include Disney animators and Hollywood artists who have won Academy Awards for visual effects. But hey, what do I know. Best of luck to you and your projects.

Trinitystudios, your words are so grandiloquent that you almost look like one of the top ones. Anyway, I don’t believe in words, I believe in facts.

These are a facts:

Some other after effects templates recently approved, the same repeated ideas of the tree, simpler titles, don’t see any Disney top character animation anywhere, neither super quality top, etc… Looks like a joke.

You look like a joke buddy. If you think that your rejected work looks nearly as finished or high-quality as those templates, you really need to start being honest to yourself.

The character animation of Super Santa is really high quality, you just embarass yourself if you think your two-keyframe turning Santa is as good or better than this.

By now, I think you are either a troll or delusional.

Seems that you want me to shut up.

Is it good character animation the super santa? Is it perfect? I see a lot of robotic movements there.

wow this is a good feedback.

How about the other ones you don’t comment anything…
You can enter to discuss the points why you think the second one, for example is better than mine.
Maybe you convince me who knows…

Troll of what? Of my own thread?

You must respect everyone’s opinion here.

As a result, the correct answers are the answers that sometimes show your mistakes.

I made a lot of sharing, I told myself I should work more when they told me my idea.

If you don’t want to comment here, you shouldn’t write it here.

Oh my God. When will you stop it?. Friend, believe me, continuing to prove that black is white - reduces your coefficient of efficiency to zero. Leave it at all. I advise you to really listen to the advice of experienced authors, and start working on another project without making previous mistakes

Oh my god, romlam is back, trying to put the black and whites more than they are.
I will take your advice when you start talking about colors, but I don’t think you want to show me colors, only black and whites.

This thread should be closed, the conversation is getting useless :man_facepalming: @unlockdesign

Yes, I don’t wanna show you colors. Other authors have already explained in detail about each shade of each colors. Why should I repeat them?
