[Hard Rejected] HTML Template - Seeking Advice to Improve!

Hi authors,

My Aurnet - A clean HTML business site was hard rejected on ThemeForest.

Feedback:

The rejection mentioned that the design/functionality didn’t meet quality standards.

Request:

Can you check my preview link and share any advice on:

  1. Design trends and improvements?
  2. Code quality or functionality issues?
  3. Tips for better presentation?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Best,
ThinkFrontEnd

@ThinkFrontend

The design and theme looks good to the eye, however for starters:

The repeated use of the text “Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet consectetur adipisicing elit.” and so forth just shows a lack of any work or thought put into the pages. A monkey could have written this.

I don’t think you can use trademark logos - example on your About Page major brand logos are used without thought to trademarks.

None of the internal links go anywhere about from #hash tag

That is without checking mobile responsiveness, or anything else in depth.

It looks nice, but let others share their thoughts too. Thanks for reaching out to the forum for advice. Good luck!

All that @123Simples said - esp the copy paste part, plus the concept has been done a thousand times before and needs to find something more unique to offer.

Hi ThinkFrontEnd,

Thank you for reaching out. I understand how frustrating a rejection can be, but with some improvements, you can enhance your chances of approval. Here are some insights based on common reasons for rejection:

1. Design Trends & Improvements

  • Typography & Spacing: Ensure consistent and visually appealing typography. Use proper spacing to improve readability and layout balance.
  • Visual Hierarchy: Improve contrast and alignment to create a clearer structure that guides users naturally.
  • Modern Aesthetics: Check if the design feels outdated. Refer to recent ThemeForest-approved business templates for inspiration.
  • Unique Elements: If the design is too generic, consider adding creative touches like subtle animations, unique layouts, or fresh UI components.

2. Code Quality & Functionality

  • Validation & Optimization: Ensure your code is W3C validated and optimized for performance. Minimize CSS and JavaScript where possible.
  • Browser Compatibility: Test across different browsers and devices for responsiveness and compatibility.
  • Accessibility: Follow WCAG guidelines to ensure better usability for all users.
  • Interactivity: Add smooth animations/transitions, but avoid excessive or unnecessary effects.

3. Presentation Tips

  • High-Quality Preview Images: Showcase your template with professional, high-resolution images.
  • Clear Documentation: Provide easy-to-follow installation and customization guides.
  • Engaging Demo: Make sure your live preview is engaging, well-structured, and error-free.
