Goodnex theme left nav has issues on iPads

I have been using the Goodnex HTML5 responsive theme for some time and love it.

Recently however the left nav (including the original template left-nav.html) has required a double click on iPads rather than a single click on everything else. This is using Safari and the latest version of IoS for the iPads.
