Generic Hard Rejection - how to determin a solution?

I developed a plugin for Wordpress to allow for anonymous confessions on a WP site.

The plugin consisted of a custom post type, a settings page, and 2 shortcodes for displaying the list of confessions and also displaying the submission form. I used nonce validation for both confession submission and the form on the settings page. The setting page allows for altering many of the label and button texts. Change Confessions to “Deep Dark Secrets” or whatever.

“This item has a nice concept, but doesn’t feature the required functionality and features to be approved as a premium item.”

I don’t know what they’re looking for. Can anyone give me some input as to what my plugin is missing? I created it for a client’s “mommy blogging” type website and it’s one of the most popular area’s of her site. I couldn’t find a WP plugin similar so I created one.

You can see the front end of the plugin and download it here.

ohh same below reply i got and couldn’t find the solution.

“This item has a nice concept, but doesn’t feature the required functionality and features to be approved as a premium item.”

Right so what are we supposed to do? If they state it doesn’t meet the required features and functionality, then at least point us to where we can read the requirements for features and functionality.

Yeah true, They should… But unfortunately they are not helpful at all.

Ok so I guess the question is… has anybody here reworked their submission, added something, changed something, and resubmitted with an approval and what was it that you changed?

Look at other plugins, does yours really offer the same level of functionality that I would pay $20-$50 for? Without downloading and installing it, I have no idea what it’s meant to do but looks like a basic commenting plugin? Does it offer something another plugin doesn’t or does it differently… from first glance it looks like a free WP plugin and not a premium one unless it has some functionality I would want to pay for.

What my client needed was something similar to this which I couldn’t find as a WP plugin. They only thing my plugin is missing is a voting type system which I had planned to add as a V2 upgrade. I just don’t know if it’s worth it to add that feature if I’m just going to get another hard reject.

If I was able to find a $15-$20 plugin that did this, I would have easilt purchased it from code canyon which is why I decided to submit it.

If you replicated that then there is a better chance of getting accepted as at the moment it has no feature which makes it a premium plugin, adding the voting will give it the better chance but it will probably need more than that to be honest, you basically need to add more functionality.

I get these ideas from clients too and I release them as plugins but the majority go on wp.org or on github as they just aren’t premium plugins at the moment, keep at it, there will be that one idea that makes you go wow and want to release as a premium plugin.
