I’m going to write to the support of my distributor cause I have this track on Spotify as well, but this guy released it faster than me.
Guys who have this experience, please advice what should I do in such cases additionally? This track is also on other streaming platfroms. What should I do to take this track down from his profiles?
Check for other tracks on his profile, guys, may be there are some tracks of yours as well.
Understood
I also know that DMCA should be sent not or distributors but to every streaming platforms separately.
I asked amuse what to do in the future if it happens again and they advised me to send this claim to streaming platforms separately as well. I really don’t understand why (because they actually helped me this time) but this is what they said
hello. this account does the same. i already messaged to his distributor and it removed 4 albums, but 1 is still on spotify. maybe someone will find his music:
you need to message the distributor first. sometimes it does not help and you can message all major platforms separately. btw Spotify removed stolen content fast
There were a few of my tracks that were already removed by request. But it seems like this artist’s entire portfolio consists of recordings by other authors.
Distributor of some of these compilations: iMusician Digital
Glad I helped you too
Which distributor did you wrote to?
I had two situations before this one, first was Amuse and they solved the problem within a few days, really affective and fast support, they took down the illegal track. But the second one is DistroKid and I can’t get an answer from them for a month already. Though thei support works usually well concearning different technical questions, this copyright issue can’t be solved somewhy till now. I’m thinking about trying to write DMCA claims (never did this before), but it seems to be a bit difficult - if I understand correctly we the DMCA letter should be sent to every store one by one?
Yes. For every market you need separate DMCA notice. And this is annoying. Distrokid is worst in response. I will write to my publisher, may be he will write official letter to Distrokid garbage.
Of all the platforms, Spotify has the most thorough DMCA form, which they respond to quickly on any of the 7 days of the week.
And among the distributors, CDBaby has the fastest response.
There was even a case when an album was released in which the “artist” recorded vocals over my synthwave tracks. CDBaby remove the release and issued a warning to that artist. But he re-released the album on all platforms. After this, CDBaby permanently closed his account.
