Hey fellow authors,
I wanted to share something encouraging — I just received my first BMI payment, and it turned out to be ok to my taste! What made it even more meaningful is that it came after years of silence, with little to no feedback or performance reports. The reports started at 2$ few months ago, then 47 and now Bigger 
It’s a strong reminder that the seeds we plant today might take time to grow — but they do grow. In a time where things can feel uncertain or slow, this felt like a breath of fresh air and renewed motivation.
If you’re still waiting for your moment, hang in there. Keep creating, keep pushing, and trust the process. Sometimes, the best things come when you least expect them.

Congrats, mate! That’s great news! I’m curious - was it only stock sites(like AJ) that made you those placements? Or was it from sync libraries? And what the origin of those reports - is it TV, streaming or something else?

It was only from stock sites ! And for the biggest earning it was from a YouTube channel in South Korea, and it was in 04/2024 so I guess there’s plenty other things which are coming ! I hope so
Wow! That’s truly inspiring for me:) so it means BMI works somewhat like Identifyy too, if I understand that well… I always thought that since it has no audio “fingerprint” - it won’t work that way. So that’s a really great news, thank you for sharing!

Yes and I don’t know if it’s linked but BMi start to be more active once I join a mechanical collecting platform ! I also got some little TV placements for sure ! So anything we release will find its purpose whenever it’s for TV or Youtube !

I am eagerly awaiting the SACEM rights in July, having participated in an album by an internationally known artist plus the use of stock music.

I’m using Sentric Music as platform to collect my mechanicals I will let you know how it’s linked or not to my actual BMI reports ! As always with everything in this world, everything are slow regarding the reports etc

I got my first PRO payment from Snapchat in May, which was around $3,000 (retroactive from the past couple of years, so it will be much smaller in the future, but still).
Now we can get good PRO royalties from YouTube, TikTok and Snapchat.
Meta/FB/Insta still pay next to nothing, unfortunately. I know my music has MASSIVE use there (and I’m sure many of you have music with massive use there too), but they pay very little.
Hopefully the PROs can also force them to pay the same rates as TikTok.
