Absolutely no more CID services for me. Then everyone makes their own choices. I prefer it this way and to have control over my tracks.
I didn’t like their support when I kindly asked them to remove my tracks from their service, and they didn’t do it. Luckily, after months, I finally managed to do it. It’s a terrible feeling not to have control over something that is yours.
Having musical items without protection really is not advisable.
I understand and share the feeling. Now, picture this: now that you don’t have your music CID registred, anyone could just register as their own and, despite the fact that they’d be making money out of your work, boy, that indeed would be a mess for you and for the customers. It happened many times and some of those experiences can be read somewhere here around the forums.
Anyway, not trying to convince you of anything. Your music, your choices. Respect.
My experience with them is very good. Recently I had to release a claim for a client and they replied fast and cleared it.
A lot of videos that get recognized by the system dont make money because of low views or geo location. But it is also worthwhile information to see what is happening to your music. For example some tracks I havent sold but they are used in videos which means this is pirated.
I totally understand. I think their support is beyond awful. Also, they are crooks. They owe me money and have ceased all communication.
But that doesn’t mean you should give up on CID altogether. There are other options. My current service provider is much more flexible and you retain control over your assets.
The sad reality is if you don’t register your tracks, someone else will do it in your stead and usurp your rights. When that happens it will be a mess for you and your customers. Not registering your track is unprofessional and reckless.
I totally understand those who had bad experiences. I’m personally not fond at all of their manners towards artists.
That said, my personal experience, at least as a service has been very good. By the end of the month I should be getting and upper 4 digit number, and this month report was also very good.
The mere fact of being exposed to those chances every now and then justify, in my case, sticking with them at least for now.
I also was in the place of lifting claims for customers with proper licenses and all the paper work done and they cleared the claims in less than one day.
Again, just my personal experience.
Good to hear! Which one did you end up switching to? Did you get the initial “new video” bump in earnings again?
Unfortunately, they can do that anyway (hard to believe, but it’s true)… But it’s a lot easier to resolve the Content ID conflict if you can show you registered the track first.
Hey Jackk44, it’s been a while, good to “see” you!
I went with RHEI’s Opposition. Apart from the fact that they don’t have an interface that can display the reports like with Identifyy, I am very satisfied. After the first couple months of transition, I got ten times what I was making with Identifyy by the end of my run with them. Not as much as I had hoped, but proof that I wasn’t crazy and that Identifyy was indeed missing out on a lot of money. Last report went down a little. I’m still waiting on the current report to see if the trends continue.
Haha, yeah. I’ve been on vacation from forum writing activity since July or something. But I’ve been reading.
Glad to hear!
I have received a few e-mails from them asking me to switch, but since I’m happy with what I’ve got it’s not something I’m considering right now. Good to know they are good to work with though. If I may ask, what percentage do they pay out?
Nice that you got the “new CID provider” bonus again. Always something!
Regarding the percentage, they seem to be open to negotiations. I got a better deal than with Identiffyy, but I have a feeling I could have gotten even better a deal, had I pushed for more.
Nice indeed, but I’d like to see that bump not deflate this time.
I am seeing a new section on my Identifyy dashboard: Int’l Pub Royalties…
Does anybody know what that is about.?
Not that any money came from it this quarter, but it’d be nice to know.
I asked them once and this is what they said:
These are additional royalties that we have found in international territories that you should be receiving, but have not been.
