Falling income in elements

Or to raise subscription price which is easiest way for now.

Do you mean since December 2023? They implemented the new search engine in January 2024 and that’s when my earnings started going down. When I’ve tried searches to find my items, a lot of off-topic photos show up way before mine simply because they have people in them, from what I can tell.

i’ve been saying this for years but nobody cares… there are still quality items crated for the marketplace I just uploaded one but that will never be part of Elements or any other subscription model as you say is impossible to make a decent income.

It took a few good years to literally get to the end of the rope for some of you talking about this here on the forum.

As I said let Elements live I don’t really care at this point but decouple it from the Envato market and make this clear to the client because most clients believe that Elements contains the entire Envato stuff…

From January 2024 through November 2024 the monthly income was good to very good. From December 2024 the income fell no matter what has been uploaded - something chaned and it has been detrimental to me.

There has been a continuous decline in earnings on Envato for more than three months without a clear reason. Could this be related to the new AI-powered services offered by the platform, such as image generation? And has Envato, through these services, become like a contributor competing with creators for sales? I kindly ask the platform administrators to clarify this matter.

Best regards everyone

Yes, close to 50% down.

AI images, AI videos, free sites, world economy, … Name it, got it. Reasons for drops.

No one can clarify this. It is complex beyond our knowledge. Unfortunately.

Too many authors to split the profit, low-quality items with no support, items without the ā€œEnvato soulā€, why do you think Envato got so big, Because authors like me and others put their heart and soul into their work since Elements they completely forgot about what Envato stands for and went to the number games, 1 gazillion files for 25$, how can this work guys thing about it is literally impossible, it will get worse and worse for authors, probably Elements is still profitable as a whole for Envato but in time this will fade…

I will say it again decouple Elements from the marketplace and I am 100000% sure that the marketplaces all of them including stock will flourish again.

As a buyer I want to buy single items or pack formators to have no license issues and also be able to contact the author and ask for support if needed, I see this more and more in demand…

Do you know that form 10 new clients that I have at least 5 want to buy directly from me and avoid Envato completely this is how bad it got trust-wise…

As for declining sales you don’t need any answers you already know the reason, in the edge of AI work from individuals will have more value than ever, and this is why quaquantit ity will never beat the quality… Avada theme is the perfect example of this…

As a developer for example I worked on a premium slider that can easily win an award for about four months, do you think that uploading this to Element will make any difference for me as an author, if I make 5$ per month from it I am luky, so it is impossible to make a solid income using Elements and this starts to reflect to stok as well…

I will continue to participate here on the forum maybe at some point Envato will understand what Envato is, I still have hope…

I say it again put me in charge six months and I guarantee to get this place up and running like in the old days!

Quantity

I see. Mine started dropping in Jan 2024. (40% down in 2024 compared to 2023 and over 50% compared to 2022.)

We all know the reasons but choose to pretend that we don’t…

For me, it was definitely the change in search engine results due to the new algorithms. Images of mine that used to show up in the first 10 images were then buried on page 20 or lower.

Probably that affects too but if thousands of files are added each day or however they add it the more files the less income… also users will lose interest, there are free stock images and videos, I don’t need Elements for that, I never searched for audio…

However if Envato dose not return to its original model, quality over quantity, and starts to really focus on the marketplace it is game over everywhere.

The problem is, most of the buyers aren’t interested in quality over quantity (at least for photos.) I’ve talked to people in advertising and marketing and they honestly couldn’t care less if it is a legitimate image or AI generated as long as they can get it for cheap and use it. And considering the subscription model is being used for book and music album downloads, I’m sure it is here to stay. I have a Kindle Unlimited subscription because it save me money, period. Even though I sympathize with the authors who would prefer I purchased their books outright for a much higher price. It’s just the progression of the economic market.

About images and videos is a lost battle… there are too many free versions… I never needed payed images, video or audio, I could find specially now free.

For code is a different story…

There is no way this model will thrive the idea is stupid to get a gazillion files for 30$…

Oh wow! I didn’t even realize code was included in the unlimited download. Yeah that seems like an awful lot of work for pennies.

I have been very grateful for the wonderful earnings Elements has given me the last few years but this year it has started to decline rapidly. Even the market earnings have dropped in revenue and frequency. I am down a few $$$s to what I used to earn.

I would appreciate anyone from Envato to chime in with any thoughts ?
