I need your advice

Thanks.

Ahh that’s a hard one. This instruments are really hard to replicate because of the playing style. Good luck with it. If I come across something good I’ll let You know.

Well, some of your mentioned libraries need iLok, which is not a good option, some need full Kontakt, which might be expensive.

Here is a library that sounds very good and play in the free Engine Player and can be loaded also in Independence sampler:

There is a demo that doesn’t expire, with less instruments and limited range, but works well:

I made a track with it:

Strings from EWQL Free Symphonic, duduk from Desert Winds full version and drum from Garritan Pocket Orchestra (bought with Cakewalk Dimension LE for 39 Eur).

Anyway, if you need some freebies, you might want to check the free library from Acousticsamples which works in the free UVI Workstation, it has a really great Udu Drum:

My favourite library for middle eastern music (they also have instruments for India and China)

http://www.soundsonline.com/Silk

It needs iLok, but I don’t care, the sound and playability is amazing.

Secondly - go to http://www.sonokinetic.net/ - and have a look at their ‘Ethnic’ products. They have some good, cheap stuff.

Mihai mentioned Desert Winds - this is an EXCELLENT choice.

Ethno World 5 is REALLY good for any type of Ethnic music. Also Sultan strings could be very handy for Middle Eastern Music.

*Thahnk you Mihai_Sorohan
i’ve tested desert wind on try sound and it’s sound great but with small library
*Thank you garethcoker
ewql Silk is good for Asian music but for the middle eastern one we need better …
sonokinnetic provide pre-made phrases :frowning: i think virtual instruments help better  .
*Thank you Art-of-Sound
the Ethno World 5 pro and voices is with larger library but some of the needed
instruments don’t sound realistic, however some of the compositions in the category seem to use pre-made phrases of samples :frowning: !
and ,really, i don’t like to create “tracks” but i want to compose “music” .
so ? maybe we need more opinions to choose the right library

Well, in same range of price you can get a library full of many unrealistic instruments, or one with few but good and realistic… tough choice…

There are some “cheapish” maybe useful:

and some free, like this Peruvian Ocarina:

or some Chinese instruments:

…or maybe it would be better to play some real ethnic instrument?
Besides jokes, if you want a virtual ethnic instrument to sound realistic, you must have at least an idea about how the real one is played, it’s the same for violins and guitars, you can’t just play phrases and chords, because these instruments have their peculiar vibrato, trills, accents and so on…

Hi, mouhybm!

Also take a look at some libs by embertone, 8dio and soundrion.

Good luck!

Ra has some nice mid-east instruments, especially oud is very good. A good choice :)
