I don’t plan to joy the contest but I have an idea if anyone wants to take it, let’s write a Happy Birthday song in a style of “Indie Rock” so you can submit both competition.

I already have a very catchy melody, just sketched with my voice and acoustic guitar.
I have to find out what to write in the lyrics, although… beside singing “happy birthday” i have very few ideas! :smiley:

While some listeners may not mind outright, It would be preferable if the term “GoshDarned” or something else were used instead.

It would be then compatible with more visual projects and lyrically it would flow the same way, and would not come across as potentially offensive to anyone who would still perceive the term as historically very blasphemous in English.

Nope, not really! Shorter “jingles” or catchy songs with simpler lyrics are all perfectly okay here :slight_smile:

There are absolutely no genre or length restrictions here, so you can create just about anything you want! From a shorter kid-friendly jingle to a full on pop billboard style hit, whether upbeat and energetic or slow and sentimental, or anything else in between, just so long as it’s about birthdays it’s all up to you

You may of course want to come up with your own unique twist on simply “happy birthday” to give it a bit more personality, but that’s up to you and what works best for your song(s).

Perhaps just a few more words might help (the traditional Happy Birthday has a whopping 6 words after all) :wink:
