I want to increase my earnings, so I applied for an affiliate program to promote my items and boost my income. However, my application was not approved. I used the same email address—can you please explain why it wasn’t approved?
How to get approved?
I was doing the same 10 years ago. I even had a website, paying ads to drive traffic, promoting items of other authors etc… you are waisting your time imho.
Hi @premiumpik. Generally speaking, both the Elements and Market affiliate programs are set up for people who already have at least one high-traffic source (blog, YouTube channel etc) that they are able to use for promotion.
From my discussions with the Affiliate team, that’s the most common reason for rejecting applications: affiliate marketing is a numbers game, and many applicants are still building up their channels.
Affiliate marketing can be a good revenue stream for many authors, but it’s changed significantly in recent years: it’s an extremely competitive environment, both in terms of other large affiliates and keeping on top of changes to platforms and search algorithms in order to reach and hold high-ranking positions in Google search. There is still a lot of earning potential for the top affiliates in any given content area, but it’s now more difficult to build a profile as a secondary revenue stream for people focused on Author (item creation and licensing) businesses.
