A quick question hoping someone can help. Can the video templates be edited with all, or most, video editors? Text and colour for instance. I have Movavi video editor. Does anyone know if this is suitable?

Unfortunately. You can only edit the project with compatible versions of the created program.
If I have After Effects, how can I convert it to a file I can use in Movavi?
