I can not contact support. I already paid for the theme. I can not find the license number to fill in the support request all I see is buy extended support. I have looked everywhere for this license number!!!
You’re uploading the wrong file. You need to either extract that one on your computer and find the second .zip file inside it, or go back to the downloads page and download the “Installable WordPress file only”.
You can also find your license number (it’s usually called a “purchase code” around here) in that same place, by downloading one of the “License certificate & purchase code” files.
I did sort out the request. My next question is do I also download the nameoftheme-child.zip.
Also, there is no license number, only a purchase order number. The attached pdf or word doc is the actual ‘license’ . After I read the entire document/license, it was implied this document is the license. To click on the word download and select the purchase order # from the drop down menu is not evident or implied. I found it bizarre and it should be clearly in the order - not hidden.
Always better if you activate the child theme. child theme will protect your customization work when you will update the parent theme (when theme author will release new update). for using child theme you have to upload both parent & child theme but have to activate child one.
Envato purchase code is the key of License. So for getting the license key Customer should to collect the purchase code:

I already found the purchase number -it took about an hour- I need to keep it on hand every time I access support. Which I just found out. I am using the child theme. I do not have access to 'ALL" the page settings. Where do I change the BANNER (top of site). This should be easier. I have used themes before without a hitch. And, some weird attachments have been added to each page after I activated the child theme. as follows:- archives, category and meta. I am at my wit’s end, asking these simple questions. This is not good. How can this get fixed.
