Does developer need access to my Envato account or just downloaded theme file?

Hello,

I recently purchased a theme and I am working with a developer. I shared the downloaded file and they are asking for access to my Envato account now. Can you share if this is necessary? I have other purchases on my account that I prefer they do not have access to. Is my account info needed to install the downloaded theme? Or to activate it from within Wordpress? Thank you for your advice.

Hello,

No you should definitely not share your Envato account details with anyone. They may need access to your WordPress but not your Envato Market account.
