Do i need to create a purchase-code validation on my plugin?

Hi, i’m new here on Envato and i’m about to upload my first wordpress premium plugin here, but i have a doubt about the purchase-code validation, do i need to create a system to check if the user has this purchase-code to activate the plugin or is this optional?

Most of the authors are using those “systems” while providing support to make sure if the buyer has purchased the plugin and using it only one time ( also to check the “support” is still valid )

I believe it’s optional.
