I’m a wp developer in a team on Themeforest. We have lots of items in our portfolio on sale.
Some times, we see a critical period for an item. So, we need an option to disable the item for sale in a short time to complete a new version.

You might be able to temporarily disable items (you’d need to check with support) but once you make the changes it will not come back as a new file i.e. it will only be an update to that one and won’t be able to be resubmitted for the home page etc.
