Did SSL become mandatory for demo URL?

I tried to update “Main File(s)” of my item. Later I got a message from Envato: “Update couldn’t be approved. Make sure your demo URL is under a secure URL”. But my update only affected “Main File(s)” and did not include changing the demo link. I have 12 CodeCanyon Items, each of them has a demo located on the same domain and Envato has no objections to this. I updated other my items 2 days ago and Envato had no objections to their demo URLs.
Have the rules changed regarding demo URLs? Did SSL support become mandatory?

It’s been a requirement for long time on the web, most of the browsers don’t even open http:// anymore so yes.

Thank you for response!
All my demo links continue to work fine. So they seem to be allowed on Envato. Also, as I said, 2 days ago I updated several of my products with the same “unsafe” demo links and there was no rejection. Therefore, it would be nice to clarify this issue.

There’s no need to “clarify” the issue as it’s been already requested. Just change the URLs.

Loading a non-SSL (HTTP) website inside an Envato live preview (iframe) can cause mixed content, which may lead to warnings or the content being blocked by certain modern browsers to maintain security. Whether mandatory or not, it is always better to install an SSL certificate. An SSL certificate is needed to encrypt data transferred between a user’s browser and a website, ensuring security and trust.

There are several free SSL certificate providers, with Let’s Encrypt being the most popular option. Other providers like Cloudflare also offer free SSL services. Is there a specific reason you’re not using SSL?

No specific reasons to avoid SSL. I already installed it.

@fresh-look The reviewer likely requested the URL with an SSL certificate to prevent mixed content issues or to avoid your site being blocked by certain browsers or add-ons. As suggested by my friend @ki-themes, please resubmit with the HTTPS URL.

Done. Thank you for your participation.
