Design from Evanto, Code from Myself

Hi everyone,

I recently purchased a Figma design from Envato, and I’m currently translating it into code. I have a couple of questions regarding how I can share my work publicly:

  1. Can I distribute the code for free on GitHub? The code is entirely written by me, but the design comes from a template I purchased on Envato. Is it allowed to share this project publicly, or are there restrictions?
  2. Can I showcase the website as part of my portfolio? I want to include the coded version of this design in my portfolio to demonstrate my development skills. Is this permissible under Envato’s license, considering the design came from there?

My goal is simply to take designs from Envato, convert them into code, and use them as a way to highlight my coding abilities. Any advice on the legalities of sharing this work would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance for your insights.

  1. No. ( not with regular license, may be possible with extended license and author’s permission )
  2. I don’t think so…

You may need to contact Envato support for clarification.

Yes, you can showcase it as part of your portfolio, but you should really indicate that you’re responsible for the coding and not the design.
