Cover Image Could not be processed. Is it a valid image file?

Hello, I would like to upload a revised version of my product on ThemeForest. When I upload all the required files (including Cover Image), I get a warning “Cover Image Could not be processed. Is it a valid image file?” whereas I was using the same file, and before it was fine. Tried to change the file type but nothing changes. Can i ask for help here? thank you

Hi @askproject,

Make sure you have make a .zip of your preview image (.png) and try to upload that .zip.

Hello, Thank you very much for your response, but what I mean here is the “Cover” image, not the “Preview” image. I’ve tried the jpg, jpeg, and png formats for the Cover image but still get the warning. It was fine before though.

Have you follow this requirements:
Must be 3:2. Recommended 2340 x 1560 px

Hello, Yes, I’ve followed that format, and it’s fine for the previous items I’ve uploaded. Could this be due to a bug from ThemeForest?

Hi @askproject, This is what I did:

  • Save the file as 01_preview.jpg at the recommended dimensions
  • Add it to screenshots.zip (Even if there’s only one screenshot)
  • Upload the ZIP file

Hi guys, seems like I got same problem, did try to add it on to zip file but unfortunately,
got this message.

Please review the following issues that occurred

  • Cover Image is required
  • Cover Image Unsupported filetype: .zip for file ‘screenshots.zip’
  • Cover Image Magic Byte check failed for path /data2/marketplace/shared/files/tmp/b564fd65-2e06-4287-b63a-4bb82a324efa/screenshots.zip

Hello, according to the suggestion given by @SubatomicThemes.

  1. Save the file as 01_preview.jpg at the recommended dimensions
  2. Add it to screenshots.zip (Even if there’s only one screenshot)
  3. Empty the file on the cover image
  4. Upload as usual

That way worked for me, but it’s possible that ThemeForest has already made an update. Thank you, hope this helps

Hello, you only need to empty the cover file (do not select any files) but this method can no longer be used.
