I’ve searching everywhere for this plugin… there are 1 or 2 out there but nothing of high quality.
The CSS and visual design must be appealing.
I need it for a group deal buying site.
Please help!
Thanks,
NS

Hi naweedshams
Count down for what? What should happen when the count down has ended?
There are some count down to launch WP plugins on Codecanyon that look pretty nice. However its more for usage when you want to launch your website.
Just a simple count down timer.
Like the one on this theme - http://demo.woothemes.com/placeholder/
There would be no functions for it, just cownt down the time really.
Should have a pretty simple backend settings to input the time and change the colors.
By far the BEST countdown timer is:
http://www.webmuse.co.uk/articles/countdown-timer-jquery-plugin/
Can be styled sooooo easily with css.
So edn date can be set in a variety of ways, such as:
$("#time").countdown({date:"july 1, 2010"}); //Just date
$("#time").countdown({date:"july 1, 2010 18:00:00"}); //Date and Time (in 24 hour format)
As you can see setting the end DATE or end DATE and TIME is easy !
The rest is just css.

- the countdown is added using english not gibberish like Keith Woods version ( which is ace, but soo complicated to get around javascript times )

Awesome find!
Is there a live preview/example anywhere?
Is it compatible with wordpress? Not sure how to implement it…
Take a look at the countdown timer used in this plugin:
http://codecanyon.net/item/5sec-maintenance-mode/full_screen_preview/217881
That does the job, and should be simple enough to take that timer out of it.

I just took a look around, and found this one that looks pretty good (and just $4):
Here u go.
http://sitehelp.com.au/demos/countdown/
I spoke to TOM the coder of it today. He is on holiday and will be adding other fucntionality when he returns, such as event reached notification etc
Have fun
Thanks for your help guys.
I opted for this plugin instead - http://www.flashxml.net/countdown.html#swmi-wordpress
The settings is manual via the settings.xml but hey… if the timer looks good… thats all that matters.
Although they may be a slight issue for those who don’t support flash.
