I saw a few copyrighted photos in Envato’s library which means that if you use them in a commercial project, you could get into trouble. And in that case, users are covered by the Envato license ? Or it’s the responsibility of the user (which would be bad since we pay for the service) ?
Envato are only the marketplace, do not own copyright on the actual items and tell authors to include copyrighted assets and to replace images etc used in the item downloads with place holders.
It’s very likely that Envato are protected and the responsibility is on the author or buyer depending on the individual image, how it was distributed etc.
