Following on Freemius’ previous post on WP themes on Themeforest, they have analysed WP plugins on Codecanyon:

Quick stats:

  • Average selling price is under $19
  • Average earning per license is under $10 after commissions and taxes
  • only 3 plugins have crossed $1m in sales
  • only 7 plugins generate $10k or more per month
  • 93% of plugins don’t reach 100 sales
  • average sales are $2,686 or $224 a month (after commissions)
