Sorting user comments on an item page is not functioning correctly.
Example Page
If users selects “Oldest First” than the first comment is “12 months ago”
If the user selects “newest First” then the first comment is “5 Years ago”
Same results consistently across multiple browsers.

Explaining current envato pagination systems for Item’s Comments page:
Actually when you will browse any Item’s Comments page it will display by default “Oldest First” and in pagination the last page. So to see the very oldest post you have to go to the first (1) page from the bottom pagination.
Alternatively when you will sorting “Newest First” it will display the last page. So to see the very Newest post you have to go to the first (1) page from the bottom pagination.
So, Comments always display the last page and you have to go to first page to see “Oldest” or “Newest” post.

Thanks for the answer, but from a user experience point of view that is clearly not what the average (any) user would expect… It would seem reasonable to expect clicking “newest first” to show the newest post regardless of what page it is on… with dew respect (your sites are quite good!) regardless if the fault is with the design logic or the coding, this behaviour should still be considered a bug and addressed as such
agree with you and already I have reported it to Envato staff. Now waiting for their reply.
