Title: Clarification Needed: “Duplicate Scenario” Rejection
I recently submitted two products to the marketplace:
- Product 1: Built with the MERN stack (soft rejected).
- Product 2: Built with Laravel and React (hard rejected for “duplicate scenario”).
Both products serve the same purpose but are built using entirely different tech stacks. However, the designs are similar, as I intended to provide a consistent user experience across both applications.
While I understand that CodeCanyon discourages duplicate submissions, my intention was to offer two alternatives catering to different developer preferences (MERN vs Laravel + React). I received the following rejections:
- Soft rejection for the MERN stack version (feedback was vague, but it was suggested that changes were needed).
- Hard rejection for the Laravel + React version due to “duplicate scenario.”
I’m confused because both products are technically different in terms of structure and stack, but I now realize the similar design may have been an issue.
Questions:
- Does “duplicate scenario” primarily apply to identical functionality, design, or both?
- How can I differentiate these products to meet CodeCanyon’s requirements?
- Would submitting just one product with a more detailed explanation of its tech stack and benefits help?
I appreciate your time and guidance, as I want to ensure future submissions align with your expectations.
Thank you!
