I’m not even sure if this is the best place to post this, but here is my issue. I need to change the content that auto-populates usages of my URL on facebook. I use Salient theme for wordpress. Is there an easy way to change this?

Salient will only populate open graph tags if you’re not using an SEO plugin that is adding them in. If you want to add custom tags and fine tune what is shown when sharing your URL, check out Yoast SEO in regards https://kb.yoast.com/kb/custom-open-graph-tags/

We have Salient theme running version 4.0.3 and WordPress 4.9.6.
We want to update theme to version 10 and WordPress to version 5.2.
Given this major update, what is the best way to do so without causing any content issues? If it is of any consequence someone also installed and used Elementor.
