cant update Woodmart theme
The programmer who created the site says that he needs only to update the licensee
how i can make sure it original licensee not a fake one
There’s not much you can do if the developer purchased the license and not you.
You could buy another copy of the theme for yourself and use that so that you do not rely on the external developer.
Bear in mind that if you find yourself having to manually upload the update using the copy you buy then this could create issue with some of the changes made already etc depending on how that has been done.
The file that is being downloaded from the author website may be broken/damaged. Contact the author to get the issue fixed.
@almawasm to answer your question. I would say fake licence keys for themes are so improbable that I would expect for a working licence key to be a genuine one.
As @charlie4282 says, if you purchase the theme yourself using the licence key from that would be the only sure way.
However the error message you see typically suggests one of 2 things:
- Faulty/corrupt zip
- Low PHP Memory Limit
Regarding memory - visit: https://[your-website]/wp-admin/site-health.php?tab=debug > scroll down to “Server”. “PHP memory limit” should really be 1024M or more
the file is broken or damaged, check it again!
