Can't activate enfold theme

I installed the theme but when I am trying to activate it, I have this error:

Fatal error: Can’t use function return value in write context in /home/shlomo/www/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-template-builder/php/shortcode-parser.class.php on line 2556

Welcome to the forums! Please make sure to update your PHP to version at least 5.5. You may need to contact your hosting provided and ask them to do this for you.
