Can we use blurred images instead of placehold.it for website template demo content?

For a website template we obviously can’t include originals of images. I know themeforest recommends using placehold.it but can we instead blur the images (a lot) instead and include these? This would make the template visually better looking than with the greyed out images. I feel like this is one of those things that might come down to the reviewers opinion, so I’m hoping for an official staff “yes” or “no” on this before I spend the time blurring these images. Thanks!

Yes (I think) I’ve done it in the past and been accepted fine :slightly_smiling:

Few tips:

  1. Make a photoshop batch action, then you can just drag your images folder in and get a folder of blurred images out.
  2. Use the “crystalize” filter instead, looks better than blur.

Тwo days ago I had Soft Rejected:

  1. Please delete the images from the main file and replace them with placeholders. http://placehold.it

All of my images was blurred but…

Damn, really? That suuuucks

That’s what I’m worried about, I feel like it’s up to the reviewer. In my opinion if we blur them enough or use the crystalize filter they should be fine. It’d be nice to get an official answer (like if blurring it doesn’t distort it enough but using the crystalize filter does distort it enough to be acceptable). Either of these make the download better to look at and in some cases easier to use in my opinion which is why I care.
