I have a very basic (almost embarrassing) question. I make simple videos and want to be able to just add an intro or some basic elements from a template. In what areas of the envato community could I search?

Assuming you already have the video footage itself then you probably need After Effects templates https://videohive.net/category/after-effects-project-files bear in mind you will need Adobe After Effects to edit this.
This said I am not a video expert so maybe best for someone more knowledgeable in this area to answer for sure
