I purchased + downloaded the .zip parent file which is 45MB + when i try to upload an error message says “can’t write file to disk” what should I do?

Although that error sounds like an issue or permissions on your hosting.
Also make sure you are using JUST the theme older and not the entire download - you can ensure this by choosing to download “installable WordPress Files Only” in your downloads page
yes you need to extract the parent .zip file on your computer and then upload the installable wordpress theme file only.
