AudioJungle player: markers for versions

Yes that is an awesome idea!!! Hope this could be implemented I vote yes for sure.

@LuigiPulcini Have you been in contact with any Envato staff about this great and well presented idea? If not, some Envato staff should be tagged here at the very least to make sure they don´t miss out on this idea.

Also if you as programmer have any opinion about how automatic volume leveling for preview could be implemented, please feel free to chime in on the discussion here: [IDEA] LUFS Normalization for All Audiojungle Tracks a.k.a. How To Stop Destroying Your Music?

Thanks!

Yes @LuigiPulcini you could try and contact Envato about this excellent idea.
As we have seen with elements and the broadcast license, Envato DOES listen to the community.

@jamesgiroux perhaps?

It’s an amazing idea!!
Especialy when in search customer see only total lenght of all versions

This thread deserves much more attention! It is an awesome idea.

LuigiPulcini got a working script here! Envato should definitely take a look at it!

Honestly, I still can’t believe this script is not alive yet. It is already done, Envato just have to add it to the site, am I right?

I was just adding versions to a track and I can imagine what a horror for buyers to navigate through them in a preview!

It would be amazing if a person from Envato Team could post something in this thread.
Maybe they didn’t see it yet. Probably we should contact support to attract attention to this idea.

The solution is simple, elegant and almost ready-to-use. And it would make it so much easier and more comfortable to navigate through versions.

There are other suggestions regarding versions. Such as uploading versions as separate files, automatic watermark creation, automatic versions listing in the description, and eventually an option for buyers to download certain versions, not all. But this is another conversation. We have a good solution for one of the problems right here right now!

This is a great idea and the solution is wonderfully elegant and would be a real benefit to the market. Great video too.
Would @LuigiPulcini be interested in getting involved with the LUFS discussion? We are talking about changes to the audio player in that thread too.

Thank you so much for appreciating my idea.

I have just posted some of my consideration to the LUFS thread.
While this script of mine is totally client-side (meaning that it runs on the visitors’ browser), a manipulation of the audio files that normalizes them to a target LUFS level needs to be implemented server-side.

In that specific thread I have already thrown some ideas of how this could be implemented. The “cost” of this operation would be close to nothing for Envato, as the normalization process is far from being time-critical, provided that the waiting time for a track to be approved is measured in weeks.

Even youtube has similar funtion and it’s as easy as only write the time (ex: 0:25) in the description.
Even in the comments on youtube we can add time (ex: 0:25) and it works as marker

Yes, it would be very easy for the script to parse the description, looking for “xx:xx” (where “x” is a digit) and translating it into a marker in the player.

It would be a really great if we could get an official response from Envato just like we did in the LUFS thread.

We already got a working solution here, so it would be too sad not to get a reply!
