Same problem here after this morning update. Very slow to open the first tab (only, the others are ok) and also just had a bsod crash… a good way to start the day… I’m on firefox now, until they fix this crap.
My version of Chrome has no extensions and no plug ins installed, 100% clean, it must be the last update :x
Actually Firefox is slow rather than Chrome. At least for me on Win8.

Thread is for four months ago but anyway, Chrome will work much faster than other browsers even if it’s crushed or something
Happend to me too buddy
After that, all the applications in use started crashing one by one and i had to reboot my pc.
It has been happening to me too for the past few months. I read on some google support page to rename the following folder at this location, and that fixed the issue:
With Google Chrome closed go to the following folder:
Windows:
C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\
Rename the Default folder to BackupDefault.
Now open Google Chrome and everything would be back to normal.
Might help, it usually is due to bad plugin coding. I reinstall chrome every other month or so.
