Bootstrap certainly facilitates the work of the designer and web developer, but in my opinion makes the creative work harder.
Furthermore in applications where there are form with many objects, it increase the space necessary to be able to contain them all.
Some time ago I noticed a very interesting layout named FineUi (http://fineui.com/demo_v3en/), maybe a little retro style, but very interesting for compact displays.
It would be interesting that someone devote some time to make a different layout!
