After purchasing an html, I want to convert it into php for udemy

If I buy a html template from themeforest.net and then I convert it to php and create a video course on udemy showing the students how to convert a html template into php, is it permitted? I will provide the students the full source codes (html template and converted php source codes).

I asked this question to chatgpt and after providing the themeforest license, it replies me:

“Yes, based on the terms you provided from Themeforest, you can distribute the HTML files that you purchase from Themeforest to your students for educational purposes. The “End Product” refers to the customized PHP code that you create by modifying the original HTML template. You are allowed to distribute both the original HTML template and the customized PHP and Laravel code as part of your educational course, as long as the distribution is free.”

99% No you can’t.

You definitely can’t redistribute the original html files and I’m pretty certain that you cannot do it with the version you created because the license only permits the items use for one client/website/installation and you would be making profit from each student that gets a copy.

Best option is to ask Envato Market Help and Support

You are not allowed at all. You can’t redistribute any Item purchased from Envato.

No marketplace and author will allow this. I see you are an author, just think about any of your script. Will you allow? Same thing for everyone. That’s why it is called premium item. You can try with any free template but you have take care of their license terms (if free redistribution allow).
