After Effects color adjustment layer - how can I put in a hex value?

I’m watching the tutorial video that came with my Video Hive AE template.

He’s showing how to adjust the color adjustment layer.

In the Effects Controls under Hue/Saturation, Master Hue he is spinning a dial which changes the color and gives off a number like -22x -340degrees.

Is there a way to instead enter a HEX value somewhere? I’m trying to match an exact color.

Thanks!

Maybe helps…

If you click the “colorize” check box you will be given the option to pick an exact color either by hex value or by using the color picker.

Or a quick convert to RGB?

I check the colorize box and I don’t see a color picker or a place to enter a hex value.

Here is what I see:

What am I missing?

If there is a color picker for hue/saturation, I’ve never found it. Inlife? Where?

Once you turn on colorize, you can set the color, but as far as I’m aware, only by setting the Hue, Saturation and Lightness values.

So you need to convert hex to HSL. Try here… http://serennu.com/colour/hsltorgb.php

Alternatively, you can just add a Tint or Tritone effect from the Effect -> Color Correction menu. These are a bit more intuitive.

If you’re feeling bold, you could try out Change Color or Change To Color from the same menu.

You can also tint a whole scene by adding a new solid Layer -> New Solid of the appropriate color, moving it to the top of the layer stack, setting its blending mode to color and then adjusting the opacity. This has the effect of tinting the whole comp to a greater or lesser extent.

There is none indeed, my bad.
