So I have reached 9000 sales… what a number… Only if it mattered that much as it seemed to… Why am I saying that ?
Well envato changed so much in so little time, unfortunately not for the best, not only for me but for so many other authors on the platform (graphicriver). So with this “celebration” I have to give my 2 cents about this situation regarding the place I put my time into.

The main page used to be a place to showcase new items for a decent period of time in order to bring more traffic to these products and thus help authors showcasing their new product, now every single new item that the author works hours for… goes into the ether. (Based on analytics) And no changes where implemented to counter the mass influx of new items. Like you know… a new design, a proper thought one.

Reviewers and the way they approach the review process…
How many of you got this copy-paste message ?
That is the thing… “We appreciate the effort and time you’ve put into creating your item…” Do you ? Because this ‘appreciation’ comes in the form of a copy-paste message towards thousands of people that put good amount of hours of work into their items just to receive this message. For me, it doesn’t seem that appreciative. And with that, comes my 2nd point of this, which is… Why can’t we have a genuine response from the people that decide if or not our hours spent were wasted or not. In short, time is money, and by doing this with a copy-paste message, you are wasting ours. Please give us some indication towards what you want to see as an improvement and people will do it. But without any indication you cannot expect quality. You don’t only demoralize people into not wanting to spend their time on your platform, but other competitors will take the lead by making authors feel like their time is better spent. I guess this is my plea to make this platform (which… I still kinda love…) better. I made a lot of requests during the years which nobody cared for, and I’m sure this will go unnoticed too, but for what is worth I know I shared my opinion on why this method is failing and needs to be changed.
With that said I genuinely want to mention my appreciation towards everyone that purchased what I’ve created and supported me throughout the years, this is what keeps me motivated to continue doing what I love and I’m sure the feeling is mutual for the most authors here. For me it was a pleasure to see people purchasing something I’ve put dozens of hours into and then seeing their pleasant reactions by being a quick help for their overall project. It feels good. But when everything you do nowadays gets rejected after 10 years spent on this platform, learning / knowing everything for what I do here, to get these messages without some proper communication is just… pure demoralization.
Again, thank you very much, specially for the ones that spent their time reading all of this. Keep designing and value your work!
